Tips for success in your succession and strategic planning - Dianna Jacobsen, Shine at Business

This workshop will demonstrate the important factors that are being overlooked, and costing families their livelihoods and legacies, starting from any age. Family farms are not automatically exempt from Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Stamp Duty, and these together can add up to over a million dollars for today’s ‘average’ farm, even if gifted to the next generation! Wills need to be written explicitly to meet the criteria to qualify for the CGT and Stamp Duty exemptions. No matter your age, nor whether you have a family successor, this is a critical issue in farm ownership that needs to gain awareness and be addressed.
